Three appointments to learn about places and stories: 15, 22 and 29 December
Three walks in the center of Sorrento, discovering places and stories little known even to the citizens.
The events will be held on the next Sundays in December, organized by the Municipality of Sorrento, Penisolaverde, Sorrento Walks and Penisola Felix Giovani.
We start on December 15th, at 9.30 am, in Piazza Tasso, near the taxi rank. A walk in today's Sorrento, following the accurate description given by Captain Carlo Merlo 170 years ago. On December 22nd, at 9.30 am in Piazza della Vittoria, it will be possible to discover the works of writers, artists and travellers, enchanted over the centuries by the charm of the land of mermaids. Last date, December 29th, at 9.30 am, at the Correale museum, with a visit to the new archaeological section.
"With the Christmas holidays approaching - explains the president of the city council, Luigi Di Prisco - we want to spread local history through these events: from archaeological Sorrento, to the Sorrento of the Grand Tour, to Sorrento seen through the eyes of an exceptional guide , lived a few centuries ago. A way to promote knowledge of our territory among citizens, and to build a quality tourist offer for those who come to visit Sorrento in this period".
Participation is free and the guide Vincenzo Astarita will accompany the participants
